Drift Off the Map
Let the world fall away as you step into Mimi’s Tree Yurt—an enchanting blend of rustic charm and quiet luxury. Unplug, unwind, and soak in the stillness from your own copper bath, with birdsong by day and owls calling through the night. Many guests say they’ve never felt so calm, so quickly.
This spacious Turkomen yurt, paired with a beautifully hand-built round-wood cabin, offers your own kitchen and bathroom under the trees. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, reconnect, and breathe again. For the adventurous, there’s the thrill of an open-air shower with sweeping views of the Skirrid and the Black Mountains—one guest called it “the most magical shower I’ve ever had.”

Welcome to Your Hideaway
Outside, your own private garden awaits—complete with a firepit for stargazing and storytelling beneath the Milky Way. Many of our visitors mention the joy of sitting in the stillness, wrapped in blankets, watching shooting stars trace across the sky.
Mimi’s sits gently within our evolving food forest, where apple trees already bear fruit and cobnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds are beginning to grow. It’s all part of the living landscape we’re nurturing here at Goytree.
Inside, comfort is woven into every detail: bamboo bedding, thick natural mattresses, and sheepskin blankets promise warmth and rest. Curl up by the crackling fire with a book and a mug of hot chocolate, and let time melt away. Guests often say it feels like the outside world disappears.
What to Know
Mimi’s, like all our spaces, is completely off-grid. Lighting is solar powered, there’s no Wi-Fi—and that’s the point. This is a place to switch off and truly arrive. Yet there’s great 4G coverage if needed, so you’re never too far if you want to check in.
The kitchen is well-equipped, with a gas stove, hot water sink, and essentials like tea, coffee, and oil. There’s also a BBQ for relaxed outdoor meals.
We’ll provide a basket of wood and natural firelighters to keep you warm and cosy. Please pack for cooler nights—our canvas spaces invite you to embrace the elements, and the rewards are unforgettable. Just don’t forget: the nearest shops are over 10 minutes away, so come prepared to settle in and stay a while.

MIMI’S Retreat – FAQ’s
What is Mimi’s Retreat?
Mimi’s Retreat is a large handmade yurt with an attached hand-built roundwood cabin containing the kitchen and bathroom. It sits within our evolving food forest, surrounded by apple trees and wildflower meadows. Inside you will find a copper roll-top bath, a wood burner, bamboo bedding and warm blankets. Outside there is a private outdoor area with a firepit, a hammock, and an outdoor cooking area with views to the Skirrid and the Black Mountains.
Does Mimi’s Retreat have a hot tub?
No. Mimi’s has a copper roll-top bath rather than a hot tub. It fills quickly with hot water on demand via a gas boiler and is a genuinely luxurious experience. If a wood-fired hot tub matters to you, Gabriel’s Glade is our yurt with a hot tub and is also available to book on our website.
What is the outdoor shower like?
The outdoor shower at Mimi’s has instant hot water via a gas boiler and looks out over the Skirrid and the Black Mountains. Guests consistently describe it as one of the highlights of their stay. It is private, well-screened and available year-round.
What is the food forest setting like?
Mimi’s Retreat sits within our evolving food forest, a section of the 18 acres we are actively planting with fruit and nut trees, berry bushes and perennial plants. It is a working, productive landscape rather than a decorative one. Guests describe waking up to birdsong from the apple trees and a strong sense of being inside something living and growing.
Is Mimi’s Retreat good value?
It is one of our most affordable spaces. Stays start from £290 for two nights. Given the setting, the copper bath, the food forest location and the quality of the furnishings, it is seen as great value by our guests.
Is Mimi’s Retreat good for a birthday celebration?
It is a wonderful space for a birthday. The food forest setting, the copper bath, the firepit and the views to the Black Mountains make for a stay that feels properly special rather than just another weekend away. If you are celebrating, let us know when you book. We are happy to receive flowers, gifts or champagne on your behalf and place them in the yurt before you arrive, at no cost. Just send things to us in advance and let us know they are coming.
Does Mimi’s Retreat have everything we need for cooking?
Yes. The roundwood cabin contains a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook proper meals. There is also an outdoor cooking area with a firepit and grill for cooking outside. There is a communal fridge and freezer in the guest stables a short walk away if you need to keep food cold, along with plug sockets for any devices that need charging.
