Things to Know

We’ve gathered some helpful information below to make your stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If there’s anything else you’re unsure about, we’re always happy to help—just get in touch.

Off-Grid, Thoughtfully Equipped

All of our accommodation is fully off-grid, designed to let you slow down and reconnect—with nature, and with each other. Lighting is powered by solar energy, stored up during the day, and each space includes USB charging points so you can keep your essentials topped up without needing mains power.

While there are no traditional plug sockets in the accommodation, we have additional charging points and a fridge-freezer available in the stables near guest arrival. We also provide ice packs here, which you’re welcome to take and use in your accommodations cool box.

Hot water is provided by gas boilers to keep your showers and baths warm and ready. Our beautifully simple composting toilets help us tread lightly on the land, allowing us to minimise our environmental impact while still offering a comfortable, low-impact experience.

Furry Friends

We welcome well-behaved dogs with open arms (and open meadows).
Each of our spaces is thoughtfully designed to help you reconnect—with nature, with each other, and yes, with your four-legged companion too.

We allow up to 2 dogs per booking, for £20 per dog per stay.
To help us keep things cosy for everyone, we ask that you follow these simple guidelines:

  • Please keep your dog off beds and furniture.

  • Dogs must not be left unattended in the accommodation.

  • Kindly clean muddy paws before coming inside.

  • Lead use will be necessary—we’re surrounded by wildlife, farm animals, and other guests and their dogs.

We’re lucky to have miles of scenic walks from your door and dog-friendly pubs a short walk or drive away.
If you need suggestions, we’re happy to share our favourites.

What We Provide – and what to Pack

Each of our spaces is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to cook and dine in comfort (plates, cutlery, pots and pans and the likes). You’ll find the kitchen stocked with essentials like tea, fresh coffee beans (ready for you to grind), oil, and all the basics to help you settle in with ease. Each accommodation has a BBQ, for outdoor cooking and an indoor double gas stove. We provide a cool box for food and icepacks in the guest stables.

We provide soft, natural bedding, thick blankets, towels, and hot water bottles to keep you cosy. You’ll also find a basket of firewood and natural firelighters ready for your arrival, perfect for warming up your space or lighting the hot tub. Additional wood is available—just bring some cash for top-ups.

Remember, you’ll be sleeping close to nature, so please pack for the weather. We recommend thermals, warm layers, slippers, and wellies for walking across the fields. A torch is essential for safely finding your way under the stars.

If you’re planning to hunker down and fully unwind, bring your favourite ingredients and supplies with you—the nearest food shop is over 10 minutes away. And if you fancy a meal out, the local pub, The Carpenters Arms, is just a 20 minute walk but cash only — so come prepared.

A stay rooted in Nature

Our accommodation is nestled on a working rural farm, surrounded by wildflower meadows, ancient trees, and thriving wildlife. While our vision is to create even greater biodiversity here, nature is already flourishing all around you.

During your stay, you’ll be sharing space with the natural world—so expect birdsong at dawn, owls at dusk, and maybe even a curious deer or two. If you’re a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs—the night-time hoots and early morning chorus can be surprisingly lively!

We’d love for you to be part of our journey to understand and protect this special place. You can help by downloading the I-Naturalist App to record and identify any plants, insects or animals you spot during your stay.

Wood Burners & Hot Tubs

To help you settle in and get cosy, we provide a generous basket of firewood and natural firelighters with every stay. An axe is available if you’d like to make your own kindling, and additional wood can be purchased on site—just bring along some cash.

For an extra touch of ease, we offer a fire-lighting concierge service. Let us warm your space and/or hot tub in advance, so everything is glowing and ready when you arrive.

  • Warm accommodation: £20

  • Hot tub pre-heated: £45 (includes three hours of fire tending and extra wood)

Please let us know at least four hours before arrival if you’d like to book this service.

Parking

There is parking available on our Farm. When you arrive at The Goytree, follow our private track from the lane. At the top, the track splits — take the right-hand fork, signposted ‘The Goytree’.

  • Mimi’s Retreat: Parking is immediately on your right as you arrive.

  • All other spaces: Continue left up the ramp, following the sign for ‘Parking’.

When you arrive, follow your arrival instructions and give a call, then unload your bags into the wheelbarrows provided — we want your arrival to be as easy as possible.
